My name is Mike Montefusco and I run the soccer fitness program here at Raw Fitness. My past has helped mold our passion for this program. I squandered my athleticism due to drug and alcohol addiction. I was the opposite of a fitness person. Rehabs and homelessness were a part of my story. This is a picture of the tree I used to sleep behind in 2004.

By the grace of God I am just the opposite of that man, and it has become my passion to help kids not to make the same mistakes that I did. I have found a venue to show them that with humility, discipline, and sacrifice, they can better themselves beyond what they thought was possible. It just so happens my staff and I do it in an atmosphere where we smile and high-5 a lot; kids can’t wait to come back for more!

 

That being said I have 3 main goals for the program:

#1 drastically reduce the number of injuries incurred on the pitch.

#2 enhance performance (multidirectional speed, agility, quickness, strength, conditioning, and confidence)

#3 help them fall in love with the process of achieving more through sound morals and hard work.

 

Here are our distinctives:

I currently work as the Fitness Coach for the Carolina Rapids United States Soccer Developmental Academy. I have been trained by the same people who do the strength and conditioning for the German Men’s National Team, who just so happened to have won the World Cup! We use the same format and progressions in our sessions that the Germans do.

We have them lifting in groups of 8-10 with 2 coaches and educated interns instructing on a group that size. We know the best results come through doing these drills savagely well. Larger groups are very profitable, but they don’t inspire the kids like our intimate groups do.

I am a soccer fan. I speak their language and let them know I respect their sport. They train alongside other soccer players, and our gym culture is set up so the older kids encourage the younger ones.

 

Every athlete is individually screened for movement dysfunction and compensation patterns. Most athletes lack mobility and stability, and have lost correct movement quality. We correct these, and unlock barriers to performance.

Sessions are 90 minutes (up to an hour and 45 minutes), 3 times a week. Results don’t grow on trees, so we have built our model on what is best for the athlete.

 

Down to the nitty gritty:

The program starts June 12th and runs 7 weeks through July 29th, ending in time for team camps and High School tryouts. There will be a total of 21 sessions.

Our normal rate is $40 per 90 minute session, but for the winter break we reduce the cost to $347. This price is for all 7 weeks taking the cost per session to as low as $16.50 per session.

Due to the Rapids Academy buying up 90 slots we have 10 slots left for a 5:15 M/W/F that we are filling up and they will fill up fast. If you have any questions please call or text Mike at 980-292-3481 or email me at mike@rawfitnesspersonaltraining.com.
