At Raw Fitness, we strive to bring our clients the most up-to-date and effective technology we can in order to facilitate the fastest results possible. In order to accomplish this, we have implemented the Myzone Heart Rate Monitor System into our gym atmosphere. This system is revolutionizing the way we do fitness! Here’s some specifics to exemplify how the system works….
Each member of Raw Fitness receives a heart rate monitor belt with sensor, which is worn in each workout. On our large projection wall, we see in real time each client’s heart rate, calories burned, and effort put forth. This is helpful to ensure we are training each person individually, even in a class setting. This type of “monitoring” motivates a client to work to their maximum capacity during workouts, which will in turn create much adaptation from individual attention. Slacking is now not an option 😉 On the flip side though, we know that rest time within a workout is equally necessary to muscular, neurological, and cardiovascular system adaptations as work load to accomplish fat loss and muscle gain, making this system perfect for us to train based off of heart rate instead of guessing exertion and rest times.
The heart rate belt can also be used outside of the gym when doing your own individual workouts, as it has hours of memory, and your workout can be seen in real time from your MyZone app on your phone! Simply wear your belt during your workouts (even if in other countries!), and the system uploads all your stats into your online cloud. All members receive an online account in which they can view all workouts they have done, and the results of each workout uploaded onto our system. This is extremely encouraging to show all the progress being made and calories burned over any given period of time.
Finally, we have an InBody body fat scale that is one of the most accurate scales out there. By using this scale, we can tell you your resting metabolic rate (how many calories you need per day), body fat %, how much muscle you have on your body, hydration level, etc… It can get so specific that it can even tell us how much your left leg weighs in comparison to your right leg, and the like. This can be very valuable information to help us understand any dominances, strengths, and movement quality, which will then help us write very specific programs to address these oftentimes problematic discrepancies. The scale is also linked to your online cloud so you can keep track of your fat loss journey to see just how far you have come.
