Liquid nutrition has been a hot subject for a while. It fits perfectly into our busy lives. Though there’s nothing wrong with replacing one of your daily meals with a shake, most think of a shake as protein powder + water/milk + banana. That can get old really quickly. Did you know that shakes could be constructed to meet specific pre or post workout needs, as well as just regular middle-of-the-day meal replacements? Stay tuned for those, but today let me introduce you to a Super Shake for any time of the day. I love it in the morning…
Blueberry Madness Super Shake
INGREDIENTS
1-4 ice cubes
1 cup blueberries (fresh)
1 cup spinach (raw, fresh)
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
2 Tbsp ground flax or chia seeds
2 Tbsp raw cashews
1 cup Almond milk (unsweetened)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 pinch cinnamon
METHOD
Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Enjoy! (I do test all recipes myself before sharing them, and this one is definitely a keeper).
Notes:
Ladies should cut this recipe in half
If using frozen berries and frozen spinach omit the ice cubes
Cow’s Milk can be used as liquid base too
